Good Luck Chef Phil and Welcome Chef Andrae Elizondo, new Executive Chef at Stanford Health Care

The Stanford Health Care Food Services team recently had a going away celebration for Chef Philip Keefe, CEC, who had been the Executive Chef at Stanford Health Care for the past three years. During Chef Phil tenure, he had been instrumental in assisting the Food Services team in the successful re-opening of Market Fresh Cafe on January 24, 2017.

We are pleased to annouce Chef Andrae Elizondo, CEC had joined our team as the new Executive Chef. Chef Andrae is a Certified Executive Chef (CEC). He is a graduate of California Culinary Academy, San Francisco and had worked in the Food industry for over 17 years. He brought a wealth of experience having worked in fine dining restaurants, corporate dinings as well as Healthcare.

The Stanford Health Care Food Services team will be participating at Health Matters, a free community event this Saturday, May 20 from 9am-2pm

The Food Services team at Stanford Health Care will be participating at Health Matters, a free community event, organized by the Stanford Health Care and Stanford Medicine community this Saturday, May 20,2017 from 9:00a.m - 2:00pm. The event will be held on the lawn outside of Li Ka Shing Center for Knowledge.

Health Matters is a free community event where you can hear from Stanford Medicine’s world-renowned physicians and health care experts on the latest medical innovations and get tips on healthy living.

Please visit us at the Nutrition tent. Carol Capozza, MS,RD, Patient Services Operations Manager, Chef Phillip Keefe, C.E.C, Executive Chef  and our Food Services colleagues will be there at the event to offer healthy eating tips. Cooking demonstrations will also be taking place at the event.

Stanford HealthCare Food Services Team participated in the 6th Annual Healthy Steps Wellness Fair



The 6th Annual Healthy Steps Wellness Fair was held on April 27th in the Atrium for Stanford Health Care and Stanford Children’s Health employees. “Wellness Your Way” was the theme for the event.  Many wellness partners hosted tables to share ways to improve health through information, services, samples and conversations. 

It is estimated that 3,000 employees/participants were in attendance.  The Stanford Food Service department showcased the Market Square Café with a bright multifaceted presentation of healthy options offered in our café as well as participants were able to enjoy samples of our soba salads lightly dressed.  Chef Phillip Keefe CEC (Executive Chef), Carol Capozza, MS, RD (Patient Services Operations Manager). Vallery Armas (Dietetic Assistant) and Andrea Nuyda supported the event from Food Service.
