At Your Request Room Service Dining® at Stanford Health Care and Lucile Packard Children's Hospital

If you ask someone what they think about "Hospital Food"? The general perception is usually negative followed by adjectives such as bland and boring to describe their experience.

Ten years ago, patients might only receive a few choices a day and they have to eat at set times. At the Sodexo account at Stanford Health Care and Lucile Packard Children's Hospital, we offer At Your Request – Room Service Dining® http://www.sodexo.com/home/services/on-site-services/health-care--seniors/empowering-patients-through-.html that delivers freshly prepared meals to the patient in under 45 minutes, from 6am-9pm each day. Patients can eat what they want, when they want, so long as it falls within their dietary restrictions. We also have a group of well trained Registered Dietitians and Nutrition Care Coordinators who can assist patients with their menu selections. Often times, our patients told us our service at Stanford Health Care reminds them of hotel room service without the shocking prices, plus it's good for your health!

We also incorporate diversity in our monthly specials. Apart of our extensive menu choices, we offer an "Around the world cuisine" theme each month.  We had featured Italian, Indian, Chinese, Mexican, Lebanon, Korean, Spanish, Phillipines, Persian and Caribbean cuisine.

Our Patient Services colleagues are trained to perform C-I-CARE (Connect, Introduce, Communicate, Ask, Respond and Exit) during our interaction. C-I-CARE is a framework for structuring best practice communications and developing relationship based care approaches with patients at Stanford Health Care.

Here is a video from our Patient Services team showing how they perform CICARE.
