Sodexo Environmental Services Department team at Lucile Packard's Children Hospital supports Sodexo Have A Safe Day campaign

At the Sodexo Environmental Services department at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital, we put employees, patients and visitors at the heart of everything we do.

Safety is a priority in the department as we want our patients and colleagues to feel safe and confident when they come to the hospital. The team supports Sodexo's  Have A Safe Day campaign which was lauched last spring to drive safety culture and change behaviors http://sodexoinsights.com/safety-first-no-really/. We had also celebrated Zero October http://sodexoinsights.com/news_releases/sodexo-launches-zero-october-increase-safety-facilitate-zero-harm-culture/, a month-long initiatives during the month of October dedicated to facilitate a zero-harm culture. The initiative was supported by Sodexo’s ongoing Have A Safe Day program, which encourages employees at all levels to have conversations about safety

For the month of December, in our continuous effort in creating a zero harm mindset, the team continues their pledge. The management team lead by Andrew Rich, Director of Environmental Services department and Diego Cagigao, Operations Manager, introduced 3 checks for Safety via video and training during the daily huddle.

What is 3 Checks to Safety?

Before starting a job, stop and think:
1) Do you know how to do the job?
      2) Do you have the correct equipment?
 3)  Is your environment safe?

And finally, speak up. If the answer is “no” to any of the checks, share your concern with your colleagues and supervisor, so that a solution can be found.
